THE ARTISTE:
Formed in Plymouth, Devon, England in late 1969 Clown whose
front man singer Toots Earl so impressed Stuart Reed of Chapell Music with their
indie band style of Rock ‘N’ Roll, Brit Pop that he immediately signed
the band and secured a recording deal for Clown with CBS Records whose stable
mates included Santana. Their first acclaimed single Lord of the Ringside/Rumania
released to rave reviews in 1972 is now a collector’s item. The single itself
was taken from 12 tracks recorded at CBS Studios, Bond Street, London, which formed
part of Clowns debut album. Toots Earl & Clown are an incredible talent whose
songs and performances over the decades have stood the test of time and have not
become dated. Their performances and songs definitely have stood the test of time
and are more current within today's music scene than ever.
